Getting listed on CoinGecko is free. You need a token that's already trading on an exchange CoinGecko tracks, a CoinGecko account, and a public post from your project's official social account to prove you're the team. A normal review takes three to five working days. There's an optional $1,000 Fast Pass, but it buys a reply within 24 hours, not a yes. Anyone who DMs you offering a guaranteed listing for a fee isn't from CoinGecko.
Before you apply: be listable
CoinGecko lists at its own discretion and doesn't publish a minimum. What it does say it looks at: an active market on an exchange it tracks, real liquidity and volume, a team that's visible, a website that explains what the project is, and some organic attention. Tokens that only trade on exchanges anyone can spin up themselves can be turned down.
If you've launched with a pool on a decentralised exchange, you're already on GeckoTerminal, CoinGecko's on-chain sister site. It picks up every DEX pool automatically. Submitting your token's details there is free, earns the "GT Verified" badge in three to five business days, and, CoinGecko says, moves your CoinGecko evaluation along. Do this first.
The steps
- Create a CoinGecko account and log in. The request form now lives in CoinGecko's Partners Platform, linked as "Request Form" in the site footer.
- Post your proof first. From an official account that's linked on your website, on X, Facebook or Instagram, publish a public post about the listing request. You'll paste its link into the form's "Public Verification Link" field.
- Fill in the form. Go to Request & Listing, then New Request, then New Coin/Token Listing. Complete the starred fields and attach your logo. Have your contract address, block explorer link, website, socials and the exchanges you trade on ready.
- Choose Regular or Fast Pass, accept the terms and submit.
- Reply to your proof post with the request ID CoinGecko emails you. It starts CL for listings.
- Watch the status under Request & Listing. Don't resubmit the same token while it's under review; repeats get marked as spam.
What it costs
| Option | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| CoinGecko regular review | Free | Review in about 3 to 5 working days |
| CoinGecko Fast Pass | $1,000 per request, non-refundable | A response within 24 hours. Not a guaranteed listing. |
| GeckoTerminal token info | Free, or $199 Fast Pass | GT Verified badge; the $199 option in 24 hours and includes a CoinGecko evaluation |
| CoinMarketCap, for comparison | Free, or $5,000 CMC Priority | Free reviews can take days to months; Priority aims for about 24 business hours |
For most projects the free route is enough. Fast Pass makes sense when the timing matters, say a listing you want in place before a big announcement, and you're confident you meet the bar. Paying doesn't change the answer; it only gets you the answer sooner.
Why requests get turned down
- No market on an exchange CoinGecko tracks.
- Thin liquidity or volume, or next to no organic attention.
- A website that doesn't explain the project, name a team or link its socials.
- Unlocked liquidity, which reads as rug risk.
- Trademark problems or inappropriate content. Those rejections are final.
The organic-attention point is the one founders can most directly fix. Genuine coverage, a community that talks about the project without being paid to, and an active official account all count. It's also why a planned launch beats a surprise one. If you want coverage lined up for the day you apply, that's what our press release packages are for.
After you're listed
Keep the page accurate. Changes to your website, socials or contract go through the same form, with the same public proof post, and new social links must appear on your website first. Circulating supply is updated through the form's "Token Supply" option. CoinGecko leaves out locked, vesting, foundation and treasury wallets, so expect the figure to be lower than your total supply. Our guide to token unlocks explains why that number matters to buyers.
Watch out for "listing agents"
CoinGecko says plainly that none of its staff will ask for a listing fee, and that third parties promising fast or guaranteed listings aren't authorised. The only payment CoinGecko takes is the Fast Pass, paid inside its own platform. If someone in your DMs is selling a listing, you're about to be scammed. Investors will be running the same checks on your project from our due diligence checklist, so a clean listing is worth doing properly.
