US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw about $487 million in net outflows on 7 October, the biggest one-day exit since late June, according to SoSoValue data. None of the 12 funds took in money that day. Roughly $240 million more left the next day.
The numbers
BlackRock's IBIT led the outflows with about $208 million, followed by Fidelity's FBTC at about $105 million. The day before, the funds had taken in about $119 million. The biggest single-day outflow this year is still 25 June, at about $692 million. Data providers differ a little: Farside Investors put 7 October at $484.9 million.
Why the flows matter
These funds hold real bitcoin. When investors pull money out, the fund redeems shares and, in effect, bitcoin leaves the fund. So the daily flow figures are one of the few public windows into what large investors are doing.
What they don't tell you
Flows tell you what big money did last week. They don't tell you what the price does next, and anyone who says they do is guessing. One bad day can be one big client rebalancing. Watch the trend over weeks, not a single day. For the bigger picture, read what actually moves the Bitcoin price.
