1Did they contact you first?

A text, call, DM, email or "wrong number" message you didn't ask for.

2Are you being rushed?

A deadline, a "today only" deal, or a warning that your account will be closed.

3Were you promised fixed or guaranteed returns?

A set daily or monthly profit, or a promise that you can't lose.

4Do you have to pay a fee or tax before you can withdraw?

A withdrawal fee, a tax, a deposit or an "unlock" charge, paid with new money.

5Did they ask for your seed phrase or a code?

Your 12 or 24 recovery words, a password, or a code sent to your phone or email.

6Did they move you to WhatsApp or Telegram?

Or another chat app, away from the site or app where you first met.

7Is a new online friend teaching you to trade?

Someone you met online, often on a dating app or social media, who shows you their profits.

8Did a "support agent" ask you to move funds to a new wallet?

Someone who says they are from your exchange, wallet maker or bank and that your account is at risk.

9Is the website new to you, or did you reach it from an ad?

A link from an ad, a message or a stranger, not an address you typed yourself.

10Are they asking for payment by crypto ATM or gift card?

A Bitcoin ATM, a QR code to scan at a kiosk, or gift card numbers read over the phone.

This check is for education and is not financial or legal advice. It can't see the whole situation, so a low result isn't proof that anything is real. If you think you have been scammed, report it at ic3.gov and ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
