Reader Scam Report

Got a scam message? Send it to us. Each month we publish what readers sent, so the next person spots it first.

Scammers change their scripts every week. The best way to warn people is to see the real messages, so we are asking readers to send us the ones they get. Each month we count them, sort them by type, and publish what we found, with real examples and the red flags in each one.

Never send us your seed phrase, passwords, bank details or your full name. We will never ask for them, and nobody from DeFi Market Journal will message you first.

Send us a scam message

We read every one. We remove names, numbers, addresses and links before anything is published.

If you lost money

Stop sending money, and don't pay anyone who promises to get it back: that is the next scam. Report it to your bank or exchange and to the police. In the US, report it at ic3.gov and reportfraud.ftc.gov. Our guide Crypto Recovery Scams explains why the "recovery" offers are fake.

How the monthly report works

The first report

We publish the first Reader Scam Report after we have counted one full month of messages. It will be in the Sunday Briefing first, then on this page.

You can also check a message right now with our Is This a Scam? quiz.

Thank you for helping the next person. Robert Stone
