Short answer: No. Nobody mines USDT: Tether issues it. A "wallet mining" site gets you to press Join, which signs an approval that lets the scammer's contract spend your USDT.

Video transcript

You can't mine USDT in your wallet because nobody mines USDT. Tether issues it. So, what is wallet mining? A site asks you to hold USDT and press join to earn daily rewards. That button is an approval. It lets their contract spend your USDT whenever it likes. The rewards look real at first. Then, your balance is drained or you're told to pay a fee to withdraw. The FBI warned about these liquidity mining scams back in 2022. If you clicked one, revoke the approval now and never pay to withdraw. Questions people ask

Can I get my USDT back from a wallet mining site?

Usually not once it has moved. Revoke the approval straight away, move what is left to a fresh wallet, report it at ic3.gov, and give the scammer's address to the exchange you bought from. Ignore anyone who offers recovery for a fee.

Does wallet mining need my seed phrase?

No. That is why it fools people. The approval you sign when you press Join is enough for their contract to move your USDT later, with no further signature from you.
