We tested our own product first. Here is the full report, including what it didn't do.
We sell press release packages, so we tested one on ourselves first. On 15 Oct 2026 we sent out a release about our guide How Does a Bitcoin ATM Work? and the 2026 state limits. Here is everything the report showed, first on 20 Oct and again on 23 Oct, the good and the not so good.
Numbers from the distribution report. The total rose from 655 on 20 Oct to 848 on 23 Oct, and the report says more can appear for up to 30 days. It now also lists 234 search phrases built from our headline where the release showed up, such as “defi atms 2026 state.” Most are phrases nobody actually searches, so we don’t count them as a ranking win. The breakdown below covers the first 655 placements, read on 20 Oct: 434 news-style pages, 217 blog posts, 2 slideshows and 2 infographics, on 625 different websites. Updated 23 Oct 2026.
The report gives each site an authority score from 0 to 100. This is the spread across the first 655 placements, read on 20 Oct:
| Authority score | Placements | |
|---|---|---|
| 60 and up | 50 | |
| 40 to 59 | 124 | |
| 20 to 39 | 179 | |
| Under 20 | 302 |
The scores are the distribution service's own snapshot from just after publishing, not Google's.
A release like this suits a project that wants its name, facts and links repeated widely and quickly, for brand searches and AI answers. If you need coverage on the major crypto news sites, that is a different, more expensive kind of package. See all options on our packages page, and how we vet projects in How We Check Projects.
We will recheck the release on 2 Nov 2026 and add the final count here.
